EDRs record information after a physical (crash). Information such as: Vehicle dynamics information and system status for about 5 seconds before a crash; Driver inputs 5 seconds before a crash (Speed, Braking, Steering input, etc); Order of Impacts; Vehicle crash severity signature / delta-V; Occupant Presence and Restraint use; and Post-crash data.
